What Is Lurking in Secrecy at Masterson’s Bar and Pub ?

The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

Cleanliness Issues : Filthy and Abandoned
From the moment I entered , it was apparent that cleanliness was not a priority at this establishment . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire bar . Reeking of a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and sour vomit . The counter , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The restroom was in even a more revolting state — clogged , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human excrement .

It wasn’t just a rare instance either. From reading other reviews and conversing with residents , it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at this pub is a well-known flaw . Many patrons have reported spotting critters darting across the drink station and proof of vermin a post in the bar and house area . For a business that serves drinks , these issues are completely unacceptable and raise serious concerns about the integrity of the food and drinks .
